For Fall / Winter 2017, Document Journal presents its second five-year anniversary issue, featuring seven limited edition covers by several of the magazine’s renowned and beloved contributing photographers and stylists: Grace Coddington, Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott, Joe McKenna, Zoe Ghertner, Willy Vanderperre, Olivier Rizzo, Mario Sorrenti, Theo Sion, Richard Bush, Harley Weir, Alice Goddard, and Document’s fashion director Sarah Richardson. The issue is also honored to include an exclusive and limited edition book by Nan Goldin, the artist’s first publication in several years.  

Inside, the issue continues with a section of intimate conversations between some of the leading minds from the worlds of art, design, acting, music, and activism, including Eileen Myles, Dennis Cooper, Robert Longo, Rick Owens, Pat Cleveland, Donna Jordan, Kenzo’s Humberto Leon and Carol Lim, Peter Saville, Paola Antonelli, Xiuhtezcatl Roske-Martinez, Rosario Dawson, Amanda Lear, Francesco Vezzoli, Jean Touitou, and Lou Doillon. Also for the issue, writer Cody Delistraty analyzes the relationship between Virtual Reality and empathy, photographer Laurence Ellis profiles utopian communities from around the world in an 18-page visual portfolio, and the history of anarchy is charted from ancient Athens all the way through to the dark web.
